Vol 4 # 2 – Thank You to the Combat Veteran

Hello friends.  Welcome to this installment of Better Than Good and Improving™. I mentioned that I will be talking about having The Spirit of Thanks lately.  Today was not an exception and boy did this one touch me.  I had gone into a building supply chain to purchase a bottle of PVC pipe glue.  It seems that the last person who worked on my HVAC system under the house did not give good customer service.  They failed to glue most of the pipe together than vent the moisture out of the crawl space.  Yes, there is evidence of water on the ground.  I am sure you can realize what that can lead to – MOLD AND MILDREW. There is a blessing in that though, and so because of their less than desirable work, I am grateful to them that I had to go to this store.  You see, after I made my purchase and walked back to the car, I walked past a vehicle with a very simple decal across the back: Combat Veteran.  I immediately reached into my bag and grabbed my I Like Because pad and began to write why with it addressed to Combat Veteran. Before I could finish and place it on their windshield to say Thanks for Your Service, they pulled out of the parking lot and headed to the light.  That’s when I got lucky.  They were stopped by the light and so I was able to follow them.  Apparently they did not find what they were after at the first hardware store, and after making a left, with me still following, they pulled into the parking lot of a large competitive chain. The veteran got out of the car and headed into the store.  Perfect!  I then had time to finish the I Like Because slip for them and place it under the driver’s side windshield wiper. Obviously, I have no clue if we will ever meet on Facebook, this website or otherwise.  Still, I am thankful for them and said so.  How simple an act.  Stay tune for more on The Spirit of Thanks!
