Better Than Good and Improving™
Vol 4 # 1 – Showing Thanks Every Day
Hello friends. Welcome to this installment of
Better Than Good and Improving™.
For a few days, leading to a big announcement, I am going to be talking about being thankful, grateful, and the spirit of thanks. There’s a hint in there

.
Some time ago, 19 June 2022, to be exact, I wrote about a co-worker whose email signature is With Gratitude. As of this writing, I am thinking I need to change my signature at my day job to say the same thing! You can read that blog entry
here.
Not long ago, I had an incredible day that I absolutely much share with you now. Allow yourself to be in the moment when I did a audio recorded on my iPhone of the day while getting on and driving down interstate.
I am grateful to an 18-wheel truck driver who, in the middle of stop and go traffic which meant the driver was constantly going between clutch, brakes, and gas pedal. He was nice enough to lay back and let me merge onto an overloaded interstate highway.
He did not have to do that. I made it a point to roll my window down and say thank you, showing my gratitude, by waving. He waved back acknowledging my thanks. I am thankful for this trucker whose name I will never know, who I will probably never encounter again, and still, I am grateful that he was the one that was there, who allowed me to merge into traffic. Close your eyes for a moment and hear the words of the television ad …
But wait there’s more!
I am also grateful that prior to the trucker letting me merge, I volunteered at the Disability: IN North Carolina Fall Conference and one of the speakers was Nate Sally, CEO of Audible Coach. In case you do not recognize the name, Nate is a former defensive safety in the NFL who played for the Carolina Panthers. In college he played at
The Ohio State University. I confess, I am a South Carolina Gamecocks fan, received two degrees there, and I recognize there are at least a zillion more fans of the Ohio State football program than can be said for the Gamecocks.
Back to the story for I digress … I am so grateful for having heard Nate. He touched my very soul. He unashamedly gave thanks to God the Father and Jesus Christ for what he has lived through to get to today because God had a purpose for Nate and that purpose was not to have a 20 year NFL career. Instead, today Nate coaches blue collar executives and in my opinion, spreads the gospel in his own unique way. I am so grateful, and I thank God for having heard and then met and spoken to Nate Sally to thank him for his message.
Nate understands the journey which is success. My words, not his! Take heed. Show your thankfulness and gratitude every day and soon, you and I will raise a glass to toast your journey to success.
Thanks for stopping by on your way to
Better Than Good and Improving™.
