Better Than Good and Improving™
Hello friends. Welcome to this installment of Better Than Good and Improving™.
TSOT 010: Ask The Hard Questions
If we fail to be hard on ourselves, life will be even harder on us.
Growth rarely comes from comfort. More often, it comes from honest self-examination and a willingness to face questions we would rather avoid.
Today’s message explores why asking ourselves the hard questions may be one of the greatest acts of self-respect.
Why ask the hard questions every time?
I have a colleague whom I greatly respect.
This person always asks the hard questions.
Every time.
Because of this person, when those questions have been asked of me, I have grown.
By extension, are we asking ourselves the hard questions?
Or do we just float through life trying to avoid them?
I have come to believe that, to move from respect for ourselves
to gratitude for our own capabilities,
we must ask ourselves the hard questions.
That is how we begin the move toward leadership.
When was the last time you asked yourself a hard question?
Respect → Gratitude → Leadership
…and the circle continues.
