Vol 1 # 9 Expunge those negative thoughts

Expunge.  Now there is a word for you.  Zig Ziglar used to talk about how expanding your vocabulary would increase your IQ.  He gave practical advice for accomplishing that by putting a dictionary in the bathroom and making a point to read from it with every visit.  In a similar vein, I personally subscribe to one of the word of the day email lists from a dictionary publisher.  The word that popped up was expunge.  While I was aware of the use of the word from a legal perspective, I still took the time to read all the definitions.  I was immediately struck by the 3rd definition “to eliminate from one’s consciousness” (M-W’s Word of the Day <[email protected]>).

From a practical application on your journey to Better Than Good and Improving™, think about expunging those negative thoughts that barge into your day.  As you rid them from your conscious mind, over time they will disappear from your unconscious mind also.  Imagine how wonderful your life will be when you can sweep away the negatives as easily as you sweep away the dust on your desk.  Start expunging those negatives today and you too will be Better Than Good and Improving™.

Thanks for stopping by on your way to Better Than Good and Improving™.
